The creation of Commit is part of a process of opening up the Brazilian natural gas market and a result of the partnership between two important companies in the sector—Compass and Mitsui—which are connecting best practices in technology, efficiency, and knowledge in management with the development of piped gas distribution assets in different states in Brazil.
1998 | Petrobras Gás S.A., Gaspetro, is created. |
2015 | Mitsui Gás e Energia do Brasil acquires a 49% stake in Gaspetro, which becomes a quasi-public corporation. |
2022 | Compass Gás e Energia acquires Petrobras’s 51% stake in Gaspetro, becoming a Mitsui partner in the business. Commit Gas S.A. is born. |
